Advergaming. A concept that, even without overworking the imagination, can work for mostly anything. Burgers? Advergame! Cars? Sure! Beer? Naturally. This considered, I always approached Advergaming cautiously, careful which path I took through the jungle. Because you never know when something like this might spring up in your face. Yes, it's only natural that magazines would use the resource and it's not exactly a new thing. But somehow, there's something rather disturbing about the thought that, after reading a Teen magazine, someone would also hit its website and play the games there. Why? Back in my day...
Eh..if you do read such magazines and actually try any of their games, email me?
Found this article that breaks away from the US/EU zone and gives some info on the advent of advergaming into the Indian gaming market.
There’s a new real money trade (RMT) service on the block called Sparter, and unlike traditional virtual currency exchange services this one allows direct gamer-to-gamer exchanges. From the Virtual Worlds, Real Profits article (Link):

A couple of months ago there was model Naomi Campbell getting her body digitally scanned for the world to see. Then in January the project website posted 3D renders of the scan data along with some Cult3D online models (I didn’t bother, but you can get the plug-in and take a look at Ms. Campbell for yourself if you want - Link). Meanwhile Tyra Banks is saving(?) marriages from World of Warcraft addiction (Link)… while most everyone else in the game community probably wonders to what reality her audience has escaped. And now we know: they’ve obviously been sucked into Tyra’s Virtual Studio (Link) lounge world.
Some few of you might recall some old pseudo-tutorial I’d posted on geocities discussing how machinima video and regular video could be merged (Link), or my earlier mention of some attempts (reLink) by people to use Half-Life 2 in that way. Well, I’d not seen a video for what I’ve been calling transmachinima until today. The above effort, mixing Second Life with real life, comes courtesy of New World Notes (Link). Between that and the other things I’ve been coming across, it seems as if the architectural community is really starting to embrace these technologies.
