Well, we're back, after a somewhat tumultuous Christmas. Starting tomorrow, we'll be going back to regular articles as I trim my feeds, something I wasn't able to do in the last few days' uproar. Until then though, here are a few things for you to read over a cup of mulled wine (if you're so inclined).
First, here's a Gamespot piece on video game sales going up for the month of November. Who would have thought?
We go to Terra Nova then, for a short text on Second Life and group messaging. Some of the comments are interesting too so make sure to throw a quick eye over them as well. Same author, same theme, different blog, here.
Again Terra Nova, although it's a bit too late to post this. They did a "call to papers" (call to pens maybe?), asking for a submission for a special issue of the Games and Culture journal. Details here.
In other news, EVE Online is still pretty in the lead over at MMORPG.com and seems to be going strong in end-of-the-year polls as well. I cannot help being sarcastic here and saying I'm not very surprised, what with World of Warcraft players finding little to no time for mundane activities such as alt-tabbing from the game. Har har.
Moving on to Bruce Sterling Woodcock over at The Escapist with a hilarious article on MMOG Cross-dressers. For those of you uncertain of what a MMOG cross-dresser actually is, they're the blokes who play female characters (or, why not, the girls who play male characters).
To wrap this up, I'd like to point you to a post by Ilya Vedrashko on our main blog, about the ROI of Second Life. I've been meaning to link to this for a while now but it just slipped my mind (please don't fire me, it's Christmas!).
Well, (slightly belated) happy holidays, everyone!
